Reboot Your Router, But Don't Stop There
- Rebooting your router disrupts the VPNFilter malware, but does not remove it.
- To wipe it completely, do a full factory reset.
- Look for a 'reset' button on the back of your router and hold it down for about ten seconds. This will also wipe all custom settings.
- Change your router's admin password to anything but the default.

Just also wanted to add that while we are resetting our routers is a great time to also update the router firmware too. This also may fix many security issues.

My dishwasher actually leaked due to a stuck float switch. The water entered the utility room downstairs, and promptly came down from the ceiling onto the router. Consider it reset.

The models that do, are basically malware proof. I bet the hackers couldn't even turn it on, I sure can't.
