Yesterday, i bought Radeon RX 6500 Xt for my PC. The filmora, i use for video editing was working well previously. But after installing Radeon RX 6500 Xt it crashes when we export the file. Any suggestion?
I use i3 9th generation, and i have 16 gb RAM installed.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Maybe there is a compatibility issue with the latest AMD Driver and Filmora.
Are you using the free version or the Pro version of Filmora?
What Make & Model GPU were you using before that Filmora worked correctly?
EDIT: Here is Filmora System Requirements for Windows: https://filmora.wondershare.net/video-editor/
I would first contact Wondershare Support to see if the problem is with AMD Driver or Filmora itself.

Thank you for the detailed reply. Yes, i meet all the requirements. I use Filmora 9 Paid version. I was using Nvidia 2 GB (710) for more than a year, and it was working well. Thats why i wonder how could Radeon RX 6500 Xt fail the same..
Than it might be a AMD driver issue with Filmora Pro version.
I would open a AMD Support ticket and ask them to see if they can replicate the issue from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form
I would also open a Wondershare Support and see if they are aware of the AMD driver not being completely compatible with Filmora Pro version.
Have you tried various settings in Radeon Settings and Filmora pro to see if you can get it to work correctly?
Here is AMD Previous driver which you can try and see if it works better in case the latest is the problem: https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/amd-radeon-rx-6000-series/amd-radeon-rx-650...
Here is the latest AMD Driver for your RX6500XT: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-rx-6000-series/amd-radeon-rx-6500-series/amd-rade...
Also can you upload a image of GPU-Z? This will show if your AMD driver is properly installed and working correctly plus a lot more data concerning your GPU card.
Sir, I installed the graphic card in a new desktop, it has i5 processor (i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz) system, and checked with the latest driver, but it did not work.
Then i uninstalled the latest driver and installed the previous one (v 22.1.2), as you guided me.. but still it did not work. It works with Adobe Premiere and other softwares. But the problem is only with Filmora at the time of exporting. Filmora closes and Bugsplat popup page is opening.
In that case you need to ask Wondershare since the problem is with Filmora Pro and not AMD Driver.
Otherwise all your other professional type software would have issues also.
Seems like some feature or setting in Filmora is causing the issue.
I'm sorry that this thread has found its solutions but I am curious.
Does the RX6500XT has the capabilities to render video format?
On AMD websites, its specs says :-
Supported Rendering Format
HDMI™ 4K Support - Yes
4K H264 Decode - Yes
4K H264 Encode - No
H265/HEVC Decode - Yes
H265/HEVC Encode - No
AV1 Decode - No
I think you can play games and watch youtube but can't make videos.
Adobe Premiere uses CPU (i3 9th Gen has a built-in QuickSync, while i5-9500F does not)
I'm not sure how that i5 can render. Filmora uses GPU to render.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just guessing here.
You are right sir. And i am really fed up.
I bought this product with a lot of expectation. It does not help to render videos.
I disabled the GPU in Filmora. Now, i am able to export videos.
Well the other User seems to have found your answer.
He is correct that the RX6500XT doesn't support all type of Rendering formats which is probably why it doesn't work with Filmora Pro.
From this Tech site review on the RX6500XT: https://www.reviewed.com/laptops/content/amd-radeon-rx-6500-xt-review
In an effort to cut costs as much as possible, AMD made some other big sacrifices, too. Those include which video codecs the RX 6500 XT is capable of rendering. It doesn’t support AV1 decode/encode or encode for 4K H264 or H265/HEVC. If you need an inexpensive GPU for gaming only, these missing rendering formats may not matter. But if you were hoping to build a budget desktop PC that you could also use for video work or streaming, you might be out of luck.
The RX 6500 XT supports 4K H264 decode and H265/HEVC decode, which basically means you’ll be able to do all the normal things on your PC like record gameplay footage or stream movies. But if you’re working with raw video files and you need to compress them to make them easy to transfer to another device, you can’t do that with this GPU due to its lack of encode support for the most common video codec, H265/HEVC.
So the issue wasn't either AMD Driver nor Filmora Pro. It is just that the GPU Card doesn't support full rendering formats.
