I'm a Data Scientist and from a long time a DIY Custom PC builder.
My laptop is at the verge of having its components fried in the process of Backpropagation and Optimisation of Neural Networks and have to keep it running for days or weeks together and it's freakin slow
I have decided to build a ML Workstation to coupe up with my work.
I thought of below configuration before posting here,
Amd Threadripper pro 5955wx
Asus WX80 Motherboard
Nvidia rtx 4070 (for that tensor cores and 12 gb vram)
2TB M.2 from WD
128 GB DDR4 single rank 2933mzh Ram from Crucial
Liquid cooler and ETC,.
My Dilemma now is that after seeing the specifications of AMD Instinct MI210 Accelerator, which may cost almost as rtx 4070ti.
Through specs it's well understood that MI210 goes well with zen 4, but current Threadripper is at Zen3
Means no MI210 or Sweet DDR5 for me if I stick to Zen 3 Processor.
Can anyone gimme an advice
If it's good to wait till Zen 4 Threadripper and get all that I want.
Or
Get what's available currently because it may take near to an year for Zen 4 Threadripper.
Please note my ZBOOK from HP is dying slowly.
