CPU upgrade 5700x or 5800xt

Hey everyone, long story short due to price and availability, an x3d chip isn't an option. The 5800xt and 5700x are similarly priced. 5800xt has higher base and boost clocks. Who h would you go for? Coming from a 3800x so the power draw isn't really a concern. Just upgraded to a 4070 super and my CPU is struggling a bit. 16gb 3600 ram, x570 tomahawk, stock wraith cooler but Ive got other options.

If you are stuck between those 2, then the 5800XT, get all you can from this platform but at this time it would make much more sense to save the money for a big jump.

If you plan on using the Wraith cooler get the 5700X as it is a 65W TDP chip and stock PBO limits are reduced preventing the chip from running as hot. (76W PPT vs the 5800XT 142W) If you later get a better cooler you can always increase those limits to allow the chip to boost higher.

In gaming these 2 chips are very close. If you do things other than gaming that require all-core workloads, the 5800XT would be better as it has higher boost clock and PBO limits, although it's going to be hamstrung by that Wraith cooler so better cooling is a must.
