Hi all,
Ive had some problems with my new AM5 system and I am pretty sure I know the problem after switching out every single component except for the CPU and it is my cooler!
The "BeQuiet Pure Rock Slim 2"
According to the store I bought it from it says it is AM5 compatible.. but in my case I can take the cooler off my CPU and with the fan still connected into the cpu_fan header my PC boots into BIOS! But when I click the cooler into place again my PC just flashes red and doesnt boot at all! Even when leaving it on for a while..
So this must be because the connection is too tight or something.. as my MB is brand new and none of the pins are bent or broken. And since there's no option to adjust the tightness on the cooler I will have to return it and buy a new one.. So just making this post to aware others that this cooler probably isnt compatible with AM5 even so it says in the store!
Anyone using a Ryzen 7000 having any good experience with coolers? I've tried 2 now but my AIO died after 1 week and Ive returned it and this fan cooler doesnt work when installed..
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Try connecting your CPU Cooler fan to one of your PC case fans and see if it works. If the same thing occurs that might indicate you have a shorted CPU Cooler fan.
If it works fine than that might then indicate you have a bad CPU Cooler fan port on your Motherboard.
Some motherboards still controls the speeds of the fans without having to have 4 pin connector.
You can connect a 4 Pin Fan to a 3 Pin fan port and vice versa. The 4th pin on the Connector is used to regulate the speed of the fan by the motherboard.
Went to Bequiet Support and there is a Compatibility Menu for you to input your Motherboard data to determine if it is compatible or not: https://www.bequiet.com/en/motherboardcheck
It is possible that your CPU Cooler may not be compatible with your specific Motherboard according to BeQuiet.
Plus the CPU Cooler you got is rated at 130 Watt TDP while, since you didn't mention your CPU processor model but if your 7000 series processor is the rated the same as the 7700x processor which is rated at a TDP of 105 watts than it is a good chance your processor will run hot under medium to heavy loads:

Thanks for your detailed reply!
I realized the cooler was a 130W (store I bought from advertised 150W support) and I am running a 7600x so its gonna get hot! Lucky for me I returned both the 7600x and the cooler and replaced them with a brand new 7600x and the BeQuiet Pure Rock 2FX and the PC been working the past days like a charm! Crushing all games and I love it, still running my RAM at 4800MHz, but I will try boost it to 6400MHz for the weekend to test the waters.
