Playing COD, several times now it has crashed with this error.
Please help
Thanks.
Which COD are you playing? Does this happen with other games? A few of the COD's were terrible for memory leaks or something. I played one of them that used 11gb of RAM. Also I noticed that you have 16gb of physical RAM but only 10.7 gb of physical RAM available. Do you have another program running in the background when you try to play the game?
Howdy,
COD WWII
Nope, only game so far.
Just the normal stuff, like a web browser, IM app, surveillance camera program, Prime music, and just a few icons down by the clock, like dell update, Defender A/V, Spybot malware scanner and some audio drivers.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks.
Hello,
Sounds like the notorious memory leak issue that plagues the Activision COD games. Make sure the system harddrive that COD is running on has a paging file enabled. The paging file can be used as RAM when the RAM fills up. The reason your 16GB of RAM is filling up is poor memory management by the software developer, but you could also help mitigate the issue by adding more RAM.
To change the size of your page file, navigate to the 'System' section of the Windows Control Panel. Open 'Advanced System Settings' and navigate to the 'Advanced' tab. Click the 'Settings' button under the 'Performance' section to open another window. Click on the new window's 'Advanced' tab, and click 'Change' under the 'Virtual Memory' section.
Try increasing the size of your page file until you have stability. Make sure enough HDD space is available for the page file size you select.
So more than:
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
Total Physical Memory 15.9 GB
Available Physical Memory 10.7 GB
Total Virtual Memory 23.0 GB
Available Virtual Memory 14.1 GB
Page File Space 7.15 GB
Page File C:\pagefile.sys
My HDD is an SSD M.2, so between windows and this monstrous 100GB game, my space is low but increase the pagefile to more then 7.15GB?
Thanks.
Set it to 12gb if you have the space. Just to test if it's going to fix the problem. You can set it back to 7.15 after if it doesn't work.
Do you have another drive you can use to add to the pagefile space? Even a standard HDD would be better than running out of RAm and crashing.
Looks like the issue is pretty prevalent with PC gamers right now. No word from Activision about a fix either.
