AMD Software Compatibility Tool cannot open due to "Error downloading AMD Software"
After receiving a warning that windows may have automatically replaced my AMD graphics driver - I followed the URL link provided in the warning dialog box to get support (https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/PA-300.html). The link on this page downloads a compatibility tool executable that when runs displays another dialog box stating the following "Error downloading AMD Software".
It's ironic that a compatibility tool itself doesn't work, and in terms of helpfulness. What the %^& is this error message... I've been given no information to follow up on.
Can this tool please be fixed?

Windows Driver Update replaced your compatible AMD Driver with a Non-compatible AMD driver currently installed.
You need to disable Windows Driver Update and use DDU to remove all traces of your current AMD Driver and install the latest one for your laptop from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/processors/ryzen/ryzen-6000-series/amd-ryzen-9...
Best thing to do is download your Laptop's Manufacturer OEM AMD Driver and install it to see if your laptop works correctly again. The OEM AMD Driver is 100% compatible with your laptop's features.
If your OEM AMD Driver is greatly Out-dated then download the latest Laptop AMD Driver for your Processor and see if it installs and works correctly.

Looks like your laptop has the 6600M discrete graphics plus the 680M integrated in the processor.
The latest driver for either is the same - 24.12.1
