AMD Adrenaline frame limit stopped working in league of legends

Hi since today for no reason all of the sudden, AMD adrenaline frame limit stopped working for League of Legends, haven't changed anything at all. Anyone can help to make it work again? I have a 165 refresh monitor and league does not allow 165 frame limit only 144 to 200. I was good for almost a month using the adrenaline limit at 165 giving smooth gameplay, now it just not working and weird thing is I haven't changed anything. Thank you in advance.

In the Adrenlin software, are you using Radeon Chill or the Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC)?

If you're using one of the options, then try disabling the one that you normally use and try enabling the secondary frame capping option to see if it will address the issue.

P.S. For the smoothest experience, you'll want to do the following:

* In-Game Settings: Turn off V-Sync and allow the Frame Rate to run "Unlimited, Unlocked, (or whatever the highest value is available)."

* Adrenlin Software: Select "Always On" for "Wait for Vertical Refresh," along with capping the FPS value to either 160 or 162 (max). By doing this -- in tandem with FreeSync Premium (or Open Forum VRR) -- you'll be able to avoid any screen tearing since the FPS won't ever exceed your monitor's 165Hz refresh window.

Thank you for your support. I was using FRTC. After further testing the issue seems to behave randomly. Usually it works fine one or two games where frames are actually locked at what I set on FRTC. however when a new game starts *after loading screen* there is a chance frames are unlocked again, so I have to close the game, load it again and frames will be locked again. So far it's the only workaround. I will try the combination of settings you recommended and report back, I hope wait for vertical refresh does not add much input lag to my mouse.

Sorry for the late reply; I'm just seeing this now, for some reason.

Based on what you're describing, I'm wondering whether you have your iGPU enabled? In some instances, it can cause some issues with some games switching in between iGPU and dGPU and that's likely what's going on there. (Also, keep in mind that they both have their own separate graphic profiles within Adrenalin and that could also be creating conflicts as well.)

Me, personally, I disabled it and only use my dGPU for general computing and gaming. In order to do this, you can:

* Right click the Start Button

* Click on "Device Manager"

* Click the drop-down option "Display adapters"

* Right click on "AMD Radeon Graphics" and click "Disable device"

* Click "Ok" and close Device Manager

Any advices to fix skipping seconds on my screen ? Kinda like lagging... Tried almost everything from capping my fps to adrenaline and to monitor hz  and even reinstalling clean the windows along with the game.

My specs are :

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500f

  • GPU: Saphire Radeon Rx 7800 xt

  • Monitor: Lg ultragear 27 QHD 2560 X 1440 165 hz (with overlock 180)

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Eagle Ax

  • RAM : Kingston fury Beast 32 GB ( 2 x 16) 6000 mhz (xmp enabled)

My network is fine (starlink right now cause no fiber on my area)

When you're mentioning "skipping," are you noticing that there's massive hitches when you're playing? (Like, when you're playing and then it freezes for 3 seconds, and it resumes?)

Also, what type of game are you playing where you're seeing the skips? Is it a singleplayer, multiplayer, or MMO?

Was reffering to league of legends. The game doenst feel smooth anymore and It's like having delay to my spells etc and what I see on my screen especially on big team fights, It's not freeze.

Tried to disable my g-sync option from my monitor too and from adrenaline since I read that it;s best for lower inpute delay in games like league to have g-sync off but it;s the same thing.
