earlier when i posted news on the new Intel SSD offerings I criticised AMD
the reason is that there is not nearly enough PCIe lanes to consider an Optane storage unit as an option
later i posted an article on front panel boxes with a 6 pack of 2.5: bays and still enough room for an optical drive, that unit wants 7 SATA lanes so the existing 4-6 means I have to install an 8-port SATA card to leverage such a box
so i thought i would post some comments about the shortage of resources
