144hz refresh rate no longer an option in windows settings with new rx 6700 XT
GPU: AMD Radeon 6700 XT
Monitor: ASUS VG248qe
Cable: DisplayPort to DVI-D
These three together should allow me to change my monitor refresh rate to 144hz in Windows settings, but they don't. Instead, the only available refresh rate for 1920x1080 in windows settings is 60hz. I previously had a nVidia GeForce 970 and I was able to set my refresh rate to 144hz. I was told to ask here for help.
Thanks in advance

Run the program called DDU .. remove all things Nvidia .. reboot .. see if that helps
IF not .. run DDU again and remove all things AMD .. reboot .. and THEN reinstall latest GPU drivers from AMD.com
Make sure your BIOS is up to date on your motherboard
Make sure you are running latest chipset drivers from Intel or AMD ..for whatever motherboard you are running
