We are launching the all-new AMD Radeon™ RX 9070, and RX 9070 XT today with an incredible set of new and updated software features. Read on to see what amazing experiences you’ll be able to take advantage of on our latest graphics cards.
FSR 4 – Enhanced Upscaling, Powered by AI
Available exclusively on AMD Radeon™ RX 9070 Series graphics cards, AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ 25.3.1 adds a new easy-to-use AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 4GD-187B (AMD FSR 4) upgrade feature that helps maximize performance at maximum quality in supported games. This feature automatically upgrades supported games with game integrated AMD FSR 3.1 temporal upscaling to use ML-powered AMD FSR 4 upscaling with a simple button in the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ UI.
The new ML-accelerated AMD FSR 4 upscaling algorithm is trained using high-quality ground truth game data on AMD Instinct™ GPUs and uses the hardware-accelerated feature of the AMD RDNA™ 4 architecture designed to give the user maximum upscaling quality while still providing a next-level gaming experience with a substantial game performance boost. AMD FSR 4 delivers a significant image quality improvement over AMD FSR 3.1 upscaling, with the ML-based algorithm designed to help improve temporal stability, better preserve detail, and reduce ghosting.
Utilizing features already built into the AMD FidelityFX™ API added when game developers integrate AMD FSR 3.1 into their games, the AMD FSR 4 Upgrade feature will be available or coming soon to 30+ games, with many more to follow later this year.

Enabling FSR 4
Get started with AMD FSR 4 easily by following the steps below.
Confirm FSR 4 is working by opening the AMD Software overlay (ALT+R) during gameplay and checking the FSR 4 status indicator to see if it is marked “Active”. You can also visually confirm each time you launch a game. A small overlay will appear that will indicate the status of FSR 4.
AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1
AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF)GD-234C is a cutting-edge in-driver frame generation technology designed to increase frame rates and gameplay smoothness and is part of AMD HYPR-RXGD-225A, the one-click performance enhancing solution that automatically enables both in-driver and in-game AMD technologies. AFMF 2.1 delivers additional quality improvements that can help reduce ghosting, restore details and handle on-screen text overlays better.
AFMF works across thousands of games and is supported on AMD Radeon™ RX 6000, 7000, and 9070 series graphics cards and AMD Ryzen™ Processors with AMD RDNA™ 3 and RDNA™ 3.5 architecture-based Radeon™ integrated graphics.

New Features Now Powered with AI
As AI continues to power new experiences, we’re excited to bring those advancements right within AMD Software. One new feature that will be introduced is the new AMD Chat, a local and secure, interactive chat function available for the Radeon™ RX 9070 Series graphics right at launch. By using the power of AI to leverage the latest advancements in GPU-accelerated natural language processing with ROCm, AMD Chat can provide accurate and relevant responses to user queries such as “what is HYPR-RX?” or “how can I use AMD Software to increase performance?”.
Ask AMD Chat questions related to your hardware and enable features directly from AMD Chat
At launch, AMD Chat will have the capability to answer common questions about users’ GPU, CPU and driver. It will also provide links to the difference sources behind where the information was obtained from, providing additional feature and product support for their AMD-powered PC. Users will also have the option to upload documents for AMD Chat to ask questions about the information uploaded, while displaying chat history and previous conversations for reference. AMD Chat does not require an internet connection and can be easily accessed through AMD Software, a hotkey shortcut, system tray or right-clicking on your desktop.
Summarize documents locally on your PC through AMD Software
AMD Chat will also have the power of text-to-image integration By utilizing a modern stable diffusion GPU-accelerated by DirectML, users can perform image generation right within AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™. This works when no games / intensive applications are running.
Text-to-Image Generation within AMD Chat
The second AI-powered feature in this new software launch is the new AMD Image Inspector – an AI-based solution within AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition that helps users get the best experience out of their graphics card. This new feature uses AI to quickly identify and capture potential image quality issues during a user’s gameplay, which can optionally be sent back to AMD servers to troubleshoot and improve AMD graphics drivers.
With AMD Image Inspector, users can choose to enable or disable this feature. Once enabled, they will have the option to always review the captured frames before they are sent to AMD and will also be able to modify where the captured media will go when it is logged. This feature is part of the AMD User Experience Program and can be found within the settings and preference tab of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. See the white paper for more information.
Users will be able to find further AI-powered applications with the new parent tab in AMD Software called “AI” This tab will not only contain AMD Chat but also provide suggestions via the new AI Apps page for users to access new compatible AI-powered applications that have been tested to function well on AMD Ryzen
