When The Coalition’s Gears 5 was released back on September 10, it launched to roaring reception and received several callouts to its superb technical elements. For the PC version, AMD worked with The Coalition and Xbox to optimize Gears 5 for AMD hardware, adding several PC optimizations to make it a stellar experience:

Check out how you can get ~60 FPS* on AMD hardware using Gears 5’s highest settings and take advantage of the optimizations:

Optimized with AMD FidelityFX

Gears 5’s latest update includes implementation of AMD’s key current-generation feature: AMD FidelityFX.

AMD FidelityFX is our open-source image quality toolkit, used by developers in games to deliver sharp, fantastic visuals. It combines the Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS) algorithm with Luma Preserving Mapping (LPM), automatically collapsing multiple effects into fewer shader passes to reduce overhead. This, in return, frees up your graphics card to experience sharper visuals at virtually no performance loss.

Gears 5 looked gorgeous before, but AMD FidelityFX adds a touch of subtlety that will add to an overall fantastic experience.
