The Home Tab – All You Need, In One Place

Earlier in the summer we introduced AMD HYPR-RX, a quick and easy way to improve performance and lower latency across your games. In this latest redesign to AMD Software, we've put HYPR-RX right into the Home Tab, so it's even easier to find. All you need to do is click “Enable” and for HYPR-Tuned games you're ready to go; for games that aren't HYPR-Tuned, after you click “Enable”, you can simply open your game and either choose the FSR preset desired or lower your in-game resolution for RSR to automatically kick in. You'll also notice that there are profiles to cycle through on the top left in the Global Experience block – HYPR-RX, Quality Mode, and our newest profile: HYPR-RX Eco.

HYPR-RX Eco has been designed specifically for gamers who want to reduce power consumption and/or extend their play time on battery. Like HYPR-RX, this HYPR-RX Eco profile will enable a various suite of features within AMD Software and in this case, deliver power savings across your system when you're gaming, in some instances up to 68% in power consumption reduction. Currently, AMD HYPR-RX Eco product support is limited to RDNA3 architecture-based products, including the Radeon™ RX 7000 Series GPU or newer, and will run best for applications in Exclusive Fullscreen mode.

The AMD HYPR-RX profile in AMD Software will continue to evolve and improve as well – more features are being developed to continue to improve the performance of your games. One feature in consideration is AMD Fluid Motion Frames – a feature that boosts FPS with our frame generation technology, offering a smoother gaming experience. While this feature hasn’t been launched officially yet (stay tuned), we’ve offered users a preview driver to download HERE to try it out and provide us with your feedback for improving it before its official release or thereafter.

You'll also find that the games section in the Home Tab has been redesigned - you can easily launch your games right from the Home tab like before, however, now games will feature key art to bring an improved visual presence to your AMD Software. Additionally, if you’d like to set a profile per-game instead of across your whole system through the Global Experience section, you can click the dropdown menu below each game to fully customize your experience when you play different games.

The Gaming Tab – Go Deeper with HYPR-RX Profiles

In the 23.12.1 version of AMD Software, not only have we made gaming easier with the Home Tab, but for hardcore enthusiasts that are looking for more customization, the Gaming Tab has a new section for users to go even deeper.

When you’re in the Gaming Tab now on the Graphics section, you can also switch between profiles for a global gaming experience, like the Global Experience section on the Home Tab – but also have an in-depth look at features that pertain to each profile. By clicking on a specific feature within each profile, a new content block will appear to the right which provides more detail on what each feature enables and benefits for the end user. As more updates come with AMD Software, these content blocks will also contain video tutorials/walkthroughs on how to make the most out of your gaming system when enabling these various features.

AMD Link – What’s Next

For users that game remotely with AMD Link, one important announcement is that AMD is ending support for the AMD Link software application with a future AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver release. We originally launched AMD Link at a time when there were few alternative remote gaming solutions for Radeon graphics users. Today, there are many options available for users to stream their PC content to other devices such as Steam Link or Parsec. AMD’s role is to enable and support developers, not compete with them. As such, we are ending support for AMD Link and focusing our resources on other core capabilities and features that benefit users. We will also continue to support developers with our SDKs such as the AMD Advanced Media Framework that allow them to enable streaming functionality within their solutions.
