I am due a desktop renewal and amd have impressed with their new apu, but I, like many have concerns over the possible Spectre vulnerability and may wait for Zen 2. What chance is there of this release being brought forward or, for customers who buy now to be given a preferential price on the new cpu's and apu's when they arrive?

I would suppose that the previous generation prices will be adjusted, considering that a new generation is out, that's all.
This is more or less what one could expect, the competitor pulled out several cpu in a single year and never offered something alike unfortunately. ^^
