Waited in line for 2 hours. Actually, went pretty quick. I wanted the nitro 9070xt but I was about 150th in line and they were gone by the time I got up there. So, I paid a little extra and got the Red Devil 9070 XT limited edition for $849. They already have the stickers on the box for $1200. Because after this first batch goes today everything falls under the new tariffs and they are going to jack the price up on everything. They had over 400 cards at MSRP $599. AMD did this the right way. I must have talked to 10 people who are switching from Nvidia to amd and I'll bet I could have found 50. I will unbox and start benchmarking and post some more pics when I get home from work.
Awesome, looking forward to those benchmarks! Enjoy the new GPU
You are joking, is that for the 9070?
Ah! Those days when people camped outside to get something at launch. Oh AMD, you bring back old memories.
😊
I was stunned when I pulled up. I've never seen that many people at a Microcenter before. There were at least 300-400 people when we started walking in and everyone got a card!
Glad you got one at a reasonable price.
I am glad we won some people over. I can't wait to see how this model performs.
I decided to run benchmarks on everything I have running. Everything was run stock with no overclocks on anything. Everything is under water except for the 3080 t.i. and the 9070 xt, which are using the coolers that they came with. The heatsink/fan/cooler is awesome! on the 9070 xt. I have been throwing a lot at it over the last 4 or 5 hours now and it has not reached 60C once. I topped out at 58C. Hope this helps out some.
1. My test bench / office / gaming / PC for right now (3080 t.i. replaced by 9070 xt)
X670 Tomahawk, 7700X, 32GB DDR5 6000, Strix 3080 t.i., 2TB m.2, 1200w PSU
2. My new Project Build (I posted these on another thread also)
TUF X570, 5900X, 64GB DDR4 3600, RX 6950 XT, 2TB m.2, 1000w PSU
3. My son's PC. He has way too much crap running and popping up, I just went with it and ran it anyway.
Strix B650, 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000, 7900XTX, 2TB m.2, 1000w PSU
Switched out the 3080 t.i. for the RX 9070 XT.
X670E Tomahawk, 7700X, 32GB ddr5 6000, RX 9070 XT, 2TB m.2, 1200 PSU
Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassins Creed Mirage Benchmarks above
That's pretty impressive, I am happy that AMD has a way lower price-to-performance ratio. I don't know why anyone would buy 5070 at this point when the 9070XT is hitting within a few FPS of the 5070ti and close enough to the 5080 in some benchmarks. And no melting power cables lol
I am pleasantly surprised by these results.
No doubt about it, sure is a nice performing card for what I would want, I may pick one up later on once all the dust settles of being a new release, I compared my 4070Ti Super to one of the Superposition benchmarks posted and 9070XT falls a small amount behind, 1 benchmark does not show much anyways. I luckily got this card at $50 over MSRP from Best Buy a couple months ago before supply and prices went all crazy again.
An RTX 4070 Ti Super trades blows with the RX 9070 XT in raster, and wins in RT. It's a good card.
I skipped last generation of cards. I feel good about this one and it's been tearing through everything. Thats all I ask. Just have to dig into settings a little but am waiting until I get a x870e and 9800x3d to do a build for myself. And hopefully they have a block out for my 9070XT card by then.
Sounds like a good plan.
