So I have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-41 which is:
FX-9830p 3.0 GHz (3.7)boost 4 core
r7 graphics and RX 550 4GB DDR5
8GB DDR4 Ram
I do know definately that games are running on rx 550.
How come CS GO is running at 50 - 70 fps on 800x600 lowest settings? when in big action the low fps is eating my eyes away. I think a 4GB graphics and 4 core 3.0 ghz, ddr4 8gb ram should be running better than this.
same as other games, framerate is low. feels like a waste of money a bit.
painfully to watch when my old cheap system performed better than £800 ''gaming esports ready'' laptop.
here a pro tip!
1. USE DDU to uninstall your GPU Driver in safe-mode!
1a&b. you need to reboot for safe mode AND again after you cleaned driver
2. INSTALL GPU Driver from ACER website
2a. reboot again
3. install Driver driver 19.4.1
3a. reboot
4. test again - working good? u fine - if not:
5. enable "high-performance" powerplan
6. choose "high-performance" as GPU for your game in AMD Driver "switchable graphics" tab
7. test again
i have AN515-41 with Ryzen 5 2500U + RX560X + 16GB DDR4 - i run CSGO with 150-250 fps in 720p // 140-200fps in 1080p
your RX550 should be able to get 100-180fps in 720p!
btw you only have 1x dimm 8GB in your system - 2x 4GB or 2x 8GB would perform way better! (dual channel)
ps i paid 800€ for my Acer 5 + 2x 8GB DDR4-2400 + 1x 128GB m2 + 1x 480GB SSD
Ive tried that already, even installing older drivers for check. nothing changes at all. Im playing cs go right now on 720p, it averages about 60 with dips. tried to set to high priority aswell, nothing.
NOT OLDER DRIVER!
you HAVE to install the driver of your OEM FIRST - otherwise you will be left with only partial working stock drivers!
do as i said - every step - and it will work!
see it that way:
Acer changes stuff in its driver to make their proprietary motherboard work 100% - if you simply use the stock driver you dont have the hardware specific fixes that Acer applied!
for me it works with DDU + Acers Driver + AMDs 19.4.1 Driver!
I will try and I will let you know
It should perform better but I do not really trust the CPU. I have a work laptop with similar CPU and no game runs good. The GPU is always at like 30-40% usage while the CPU hits 60-90%. I think you overpaid for that laptop.
Thats what I think kinda, the cpu is not so good. The title and description
was so promising. When now my cheap old ran better.
AHHH - dont talk so zealotki11er - his hw combo is sufficent for CSGO or Overwatch or LoL etc
absoluutz - do as i said - so first DDU - than Acer driver - than AMDs 19.4.1 = it will run fine than
Done all those steps yesterday exactly like you said, nothing changed 😕
mh
run a benchmark and compare it to similar machines!
I tried to game with that APU in my HP laptop. I could not even play CS 1.6. Very strange performance. I could play HoTS in low. Same as my Surface Pro 3.
doesnt sound right - i have an old A10-5757m that was able to play CSGO with 50fps!
