AMD EPYC 7313 Milan processor core power consumption

Hello,

I am conducting an experiment on the AMD EPYC 7313 Milan processor. My goal is to measure the power consumption of matrix multiplication algorithms. I attempted to check the power consumption on each core using the stress utility on Linux, but it only showed a maximum power of about 5 W per core. Is there a way to increase the power consumption on a specific core? Could this be due to the processor’s design or its power management, resulting in an imprecise reading?

It's worth mentioning that measuring power consumption accurately can be challenging. The 5W reading you obtained per core using the stress utility may not be indicative of the actual power consumption during matrix multiplication algorithms. Different power measurement tools may provide varying levels of accuracy, and the reported values can be affected by the processor's design and power management features.
