Ubuntu 20.04 | AMDGPU-PRO causes severe and constant screen tearing.

AMDGPU-PRO causes serious screen tearing on Ubuntu 20.04. It's present both under X11 and under Wayland but under Wayland it's much more severe.

I've installed the driver like this:

./amdgpu-pro-install -y --opencl=pal

Driver: AMDGPU-PRO 20.04

Tested kernels: 5.4.0-52-generic, 5.4.0-54-generic and 5.4.0-56-generic

Note: To test 5.4.0-56-generic kernel I had to first install the 20.40 driver 5.4.0-54-generic kernel and only then could I install 5.4.0-56-generic kernel and it was working. Otherwise, if 5.4.0-56-generic kernel was installed on the machine, the driver would failed to install.

Note: AMDGPU-PRO 20.45 couldn't install on any kernel.

OS: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS x86_64
Shell: bash 5.0.17
Resolution: 1920x1200
DE: GNOME
WM: Mutter
WM Theme: Adwaita
Theme: Adwaita-dark [GTK2/3]
Icons: Yaru [GTK2/3]
CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X (16) @ 3.800GHz
GPU: AMD ATI Radeon RX Vega 64 Liquid
Memory: 15930MiB

Is there anything I can do to help and test for AMD to resolve this issue?

So.. many months have passed. Screen tearing has been present on Wayland for any combination of kernel and amdgpu-pro version.

So now I'm on the 5.8.0-59-generic kernel with amdgpu-pro 21.10 and rocr opencl because OpenCL doesn't work at all in 21.20.

I've reported this issue via email too. I am yet to hear any response from  AMD!

AMD staff are you here? Is this your community forum? Will you ever respond? What about all the bug reports via email? Do I have to sue for you to check this issue out? If I need to do that, I will!
