Ryzen 5900HX Display Stream Compression (DSC) support

Hello AMD Community,

I have a new Lenovo Slim 7 Pro with a Ryzen 5900HX. I connected it to my LG C9 TV which supports 4k at 120hz over HDMI 2.1. I connected the TV with a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 adapter. I tested two adapters, both require Display stream compression. Now the club-3d supports asked if the APU (think the onboard gpu is the vega offically supports Display Stream compression, since there only 4k at 60hz work

According to this source it supports DSC since 4000 series: https://www.anandtech.com/show/15624/amd-details-renoir-the-ryzen-mobile-4000-series-7nm-apu-uncover...

Can you comfirm offically that the 5900HX and maybe event the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro supports Display Stream Compression for Display Port 1.4? (and DSC 1.2)

Lenovo seems to have actually an own driver for the APU: 20.40.28.11-210311a-365021C-Lenovo

On the Cable Matters adapter with the inital firmware 4k@120hz with HDR actually works but not sound. (sometimes with 10 bit sometimes with 8-bit with dithering). Changing Chroma Subsampling had no effect. If I update the Cable Matters Firmware to a newer version sound works (The sound issue seemed to be a LG issue) but just 4k@60hz is available.

The Club-3D adapter just offers 4k@60hz with HDR with sound but no 4k@120hz option.

FYI: Here are the links to the adapters:

Edit Question from Club-3D support:

When it comes to chipset support – and notebook implementation is important to know how the manufacturer has integrated the solution. At the end of the above sentence it says with the PEAK DP v 1.4 8.1Gbps using DSC compression – it could very well mean that DSC is already implemented to support 2x4K60Hz support on the notebook using DSC Compression.

It will be good to get the information from Lenovo if the USB C is supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.4 and that each supports DSC1.2 Compression

DP 1.4 support 4 lanes at 8.1Gbps = 32.4Gbps

3840*2160 120Hz 10bits aprox 40Gbps
