RX580 "RD GS" - Radeon Settings Host Application has stopped working

Hello,

so my issues occur while playing KC:D regularly after 1-3 hours ingame (15-45 min when I'm in a forest ingame) and occasionally while playing Rainbow Six: Siege (every 5-6 hours or so of gameplay).

The games seem to crash due to the fact that my "radeon host application has stopped working" pops up when i click the icon in the taskbar after the game crashed stating something like my graphics device was reset or something like that.

Naturally i have tried to solve the issue by googling it and i have tried every solution stated (including reinstalling the driver in combination with DDU, passing rights in the security tab of the ccc.exe etc.) to no avail.

Is it possible that due to the fact that the RX580 Red Devil Golden Sample i have in my rig is overclocked by the manufacturer that it crashes the RHA? Should I try to adjust the Mhz and/or mV manually via WattMan? If yes, does it matter by which value?

Rig:

Cpu i5 7500

Ram 16gb ddr4 2133

Mobo asrock h110m

Power 600 Watt Corsair CX600

cheers

do you use MSI Afterburner or similar? or do you stream with OBS & AMD AMF? or do you watch a video on your second screen?

sounds like the HWacc bug since Crimson 17.7.2 Driver - maybe try 17.6.2 (Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2 Release Notes) and keep me posted

Hello benman2785

concerning your questions: all no.

and the old driver did not work. Game still crashes, though the RSHA does not. It just freezes, lol. No UI visible, so i have to close it via task manager and restart. It's really a shame, because i bought this new PC actually only to play KC:D but now it just pisses me off and  apparently I am the only one with this problem in combination with the RX580RDGS.

Might it then be a problem with the overclock? I have read an older post seeing someone talking about frequencies being too high.

These are the given values by the WattMan of the RSHA. I dont know my way around this so I dont want do do anything wrong...

my GPU is clocked higher - so maybe you had bad luck in silicon lottery

first of all - ALWAYS test stock-stettings before complaining // also test card with AMD-Stock (so no factory overclock)

did you unistalled the driver using the latest version of DDU in Safe-Mode (requires several reboots)?

Stock settings are the default settings of the normal version? Yes, the shown values are default for the RDGS. So you say i should try the default for the standard version of the 580? That'd be 1360. And the mV, do i go for some lower value or do I put it on automatic?

Ok, 1360 max on Status 6 and 7 does not do the trick. Same crash as before.

Error MSG.jpg

This is the Error-Msg from the game but i dont think thats important anyways thus the Driver itself is the issue (my guess).

Any advice?

Yes, ive done Uninst. via DDU/safe mode. Did nothing

Edit:

This one didnt do it either. Still the same.

Edit2:

It's one i found on reddit ofr the standard version of 580. Doesnt work either fyi

Kingdom Come: Deliverance... it has a special saving system so the crashes are extremely obnoxious...

I've found a solution appearently! It seems to work, so far no crashes after about 3 hrs of gameplay. Hope it might help to whoever stumbles upon this thread in the future!

Downloaded MSI Afterburner and out the mV up by 25 and reduced the spped from 1411 mhz to 1346. no issues

cheers dudes
