Reporting triple Monitor Eyefinity issues with 23.2.x series drivers (workaround available)

TL;DR: When enabling triple monitor Eyefinity, the rightmost display will be blank (but silently present) until that monitor is set to "Preferred Display" in Adrenalin.

System specs:
Ryzen 5800X
MSI B550 Gaming Edge WiFi
Sapphire RX 6800 Nitro
4x8GB Crucial Ballistix 3600C16
Windows 10 22H2

Triple monitor layout of three 27" 1440p monitors all in landscape mode for an overall 7680x1440 and all connected via DisplayPort.
1x Asus MG279Q (overclocked with CRU to 144Hz), leftmost display
2x LG 27GN880 (all 144Hz), centre and right

I occasionally toggle on Eyefinity for some sim games and have had no issues doing so up until the previous drivers I was using, 22.11.1. However, as of both 23.2.1 and 23.2.2, hitting the Eyefinity "Quick Setup" button blanks out the third (rightmost) monitor.

It isn't strictly just setting up Eyefinity across two monitors though, as the system appears to be somewhat aware of the phantom third screen: Windows still reports the 7680x1440 resolution and the 144Hz refresh rate, the system tray is still presumably on that screen and therefore missing, and I can move the mouse cursor to that screen.

Through random experimentation I have discovered that selecting the blank screen on the Global Display settings and toggling "Preferred Display" on for it corrects the issue, albeit temporarily. The third monitor immediately starts working correctly and I can freely switch Preferred Display to any of the other monitors without it breaking. However if I disable Eyefinity and re-enable it, I have to go through the entire process again.

Reverting to last year's drivers immediately fixes the issue.

Same (or very similar) issue on 23.3.1 and 23.3.2. I've got 3 1080p monitors and when I enable Eyefinity, one of the screens was blank (just like you wrote, it sets it up across all three, but one is just blank).

When manually enabling it, I could get around the porblem by turning on GPU scaling for one or some of the monitors (didn't even need to be all of them), and all monitors would show. But normally I have Eyefinity set to turn on when launching a specific game, so I discarded the quick setup. When I launched that game and it enabled Eyefinity, a different monitor is now blank..

Because of a different issue, I've been stuck with 22.5.1, and in that one Eyefinity works fine. IIRC it also worked fine up to 22.11.2

Update: still the same issue in 23.5.1. In every driver version after 22.11.2 Eyefinity has been inconsistent. In 22.11.2 and earlier ir just worked™

same problem, 2-3 monitors but just one working via hdmi, they don't even detect the rest via display-port.

besides the fact that Eyefinity appears and disappears exactly when it wants, even if I disabled relive, amd link and 10bit pixel.

what amd is doing is very embarrassing. for over 10 years they have had problems with drivers and they have not succeeded in firing all those responsible and making a driver from scratch. for nothing they have good boards in the quality-price ratio, if the drivers are rated 2/10. big shame. @amd fix this **bleep**!

Is it still acting weird for you? As of 23.7.1 (and in 23.7.2 also) Eyefinity seems to be working ok now, detecting all 3 screens on the first attempt

I just got eyefinity setup (3 monitors) 3 weeks ago.

Worked fine for about one week. Then after a restart i got exactly the same issue that is since then persistent. Third monitor turns off after a restart. (windows 10)

I talked a friend of mine, he has exactly the same issue, one monitor turns off for him as well. he just power cycles (press the power button off and on) the monitor to return the image to the display.

I could do the same thing: power cycle, or set preferred display (your solution) or restart the pc.

After the second restart the third monitor would return.
