Latest driver update affecting fps while using OBS

Does anyone know why after the newest driver update, OBS runs really bad. I'm using a 7900 xtx. When I roll back the drivers to 2023 last update OBS works fine, but my games don't really like that I'm running on outdated drivers, anyone have a fix?

Hi, I'm having the same issue on a 7900 XTX with 24.2.1.

I've pinned the problem on the PAHighMotionQualityBoostMode property - removing that seems to resolve it. When it's set to 1, frames drop and my entire system starts to lock up.

It's definitely a driver bug, since 23.12.1 doesn't exhibit this issue. Unfortunately without this property, my stream's quality suffers. I'll be rolling back until this issue is addressed.

Here are the rest of my output settings in OBS:

  • Rate Control: CBR
  • Bitrate: 6000 Kbps
  • Keyframe Interval: 2 s
  • Preset: Quality
  • Profile: high
  • Max B-frames: 2
  • AMF/FFmpeg Options: EnablePreAnalysis=True RateControlPreanalysisEnable=0 PASceneChangeDetectionEnable=False PAHighMotionQualityBoostMode=1
