Drivers Ubuntu RX6500XT

Hi All,

I am also having problems with the drivers installing correctly. I followed the instructions and 'amdgpu-install -y --usecase=graphics' without success. From reading other similar posts it appears as though in some instances changing to a different kernel is a possible solution. There doesn't seem to be a specific kernel identified anywhere as the optimum choice? I've seen some posts saying upgrade to the newest and others suggest downgrade to a version of 5.11. Apologies if this is retreading old ground but I've not spotted a solution, there's got to be a better way than randomly changing kernels and hoping for the best. If anyone knows which one I need to grab or if I should be looking elsewhere to resolve the problem that would be greatly appreciated.

If it helps I'm running:

product: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 0 @ 3.60GHz 07:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Device [1002:743f] (rev c1) Version: J61 v03.18 Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS
5.13.0-27-generic #29~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 14 00:32:30 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

what I hope is the key extract from the .crash file:

/var/lib/dkms/amdgpu/5.11.32-1350682/build/Makefile:26: "Local GCC version 90303 does not match kernel compiler GCC version 90300"
/var/lib/dkms/amdgpu/5.11.32-1350682/build/Makefile:27: "This may cause unexpected and hard-to-isolate compiler-related issues"

replying to this in case it helps someone. kernel version 5.11.0-27-generic is the stock kernel that comes with Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS and has worked as a solution for me following the example in this post:
