AMD FreeSync Premium

Not sure why but my laptop screen doesn't support freesync premium even though its 120 hz.

Freesync is variable refresh rate technology. The display likely is not a variable refresh rate display.

Ryzen 7 7700X, MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk Wifi, Corsair DOMINATOR® TITANIUM RGB 2x16GB DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL30, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, Corsair HX Series™ HX1000, Corsair MP600 PRO NH 4TB

The problem is that it supports Freesync. But not Freesync premium. Is there any other requirements for Freesync premium? Because from what I've found it just requires the display to be 120 hz.
My friend have the same device, although abit newer with a slightly better screen. His supports Freesync premium.

Also the freesync range on my display is 60-120hz which should be the range of freesync premium.

Each tier has a certification process to meet required standards for each.

Contact the laptop maker support, maybe they will explain more details on their Cert. standard.

Freesync should still work up to 120 hz fps right? given the freesync range.

Long shot, but do you have it turned on in the monitor settings?

Your display was probably certified for just freesync then manufacturer got cheap and did not re-certify for premium level. Or the freesync low range is too high to qualify for premium. Usually, I see the lower freesync range in 40s at worst.

Either way, the certification does not matter. It looks like it is capable of 60-120 freesync.
