Re: 6800 XT High Vram Clock always

1440P@60 Hz= normal 43 C on Youtube HD' and VRAM CLOCK speed will down like"normal"

and total GPU only cost less then 10W for normal task

GPU will use more the 35W @ idle when you have 1 or more monitors .

not everyone has knowledge of "LCD reduced" (WTF?)  should be AMD or Monitors company to fix modify number's

all I feel is FREESYNC? Premium?

Re: 6800 XT High Vram Clock always

I'm using native resolution. Please, don't be hard fanboy. And I'm not using monitor but 4k TV. AND AGAIN PREVIOUS AND ANY OTHER CARD DON'T HAVE SUCH PROBLEMS. It's not hardware related, nor setup or anything. Pure drivers BUG.

While normal web browsing it's reaching 300-1000mhz clock on memory with 50-300mhz on core. I was trying various fixes like adding chrome/edge to power saving list, enabling gpu/pcie power optimization, max power saving priority. Everything that could be worked around.

Here you go mr it's not a bug it's feature. 3 different computers with different monitoring programs, all of them showing minimum memory frequency during normal media browsing

Re: 6800 XT High Vram Clock always

if you think it's a bug you can report it to amd , at the top right of adrenalin, see what they tell you

we are not here to resolve bug , this is no amd customer service forum

you have our view , can't tell you more , even if you insist 100 times more ...  if the card doesn't please you , there is no point on insisting like you do, sell it  : i will buy it ... lol

Community is about helping not licking each other d* and praising. But seems this one is about that

Why do you even need community forum if it's only about being fanboys ?

Yes... best solution is just do nothing

hmmm

LCD reduced" or lower settings for the panel

So we have to lower the setting if you own a 6800 XT + nice monitor.

come on...And none of one Youtubers talking about this

Re: 6800 XT High Vram Clock always

@smilelylifeday

actually its the other way around xD

"LCD Reduced" is lower settings than "LCD Standard" - and its "LCD Standard" that allows VRAM to clock down

those "nice" monitors are simply going "below spec" in LCD Standards and therefore this error happens
and if the Monitor producer decides to use a Panel in "LCD Reduced" or lower than it will be this for ANY GPU (either AMD or Nvidia or Intel) - so it has nothing to do with AMD.
to be clear: "LCD reduced" is the panel setting. its nothing the GPU does. its caused by the hardware in the panel

PC: R7 2700X @4.1GHz + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS
Laptop: R5 2500U @30W + RX 560X (1400MHz/1500MHz) + 16G DDR4-2400CL16 + 120Hz 3ms FS

Sorry, I really don’t understand. So is this a graphics card problem or a monitor??

Re: 6800 XT High Vram Clock always

@smilelylifeday

its a monitor problem - because the monitor producer (AOC, BenQ, Eizo etc) dont use "LCD native" as standard but "LCD reduced" or lower for their Panel to achieve the high refresh rates and "overdrive" (low response-times)

we could argue that AMD shouldnt be that strict about this standard (as Nvidia often is also not that strict) - but you can have problems when your VRAM does clock down in these cases...
