What is the warranty process for GPU's made by AMD?
I purchased an AMD branded card a while back from Microcenter that is still under warranty. It stopped working a few days ago and I input a warranty claim. After much back and forth to troubleshoot the problem with them they told me that they can't do anything for me because I didn't buy it from AMD.com. How can that possibly work like that? Why would Microcenter be responsible for administering a warranty on a product they didn't build? I've been trying to find answers on this forum, but haven't found much that helps. Any suggestions? FYI, Microcenter said, "no that's not right" when I told them what AMD said.

If ASUS makes a card with amd parts then they are the warrantors. I am sure Microcenter has a return policy but that is not a warranty. The company or brand that made your card with AMD parts is responsible. AMD is the direct manufacturer of the CPU but the GPUs are sold to 3rd party manufacturers who can have good or bad quality control. The 3rd party is responsible for the build and if the culprit is the GPU then they are the ones who have to go to amd. You can buy a CPU direct from AMD but GPUs are sold through 3rd party vendors like Asus, Msi, and Asrock. I think this is correct but someone else may have more insight into warranty problems.

If it is a reference AMD GPU I would imagine AMD would be the one responsible for the warranty process with proof of purchase. It wouldn't make sense to do it any other way. Is there any labeling on the packaging to indicate it is made by a 3rd party, such as a logo for something like Power Color, or any other company?
