Find a cooler for the AMD Ryzen Threadripper™ CPU

Hey, everyone! Preorders for the crazy powerful AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ processors went live on July 31, and those with a CPU on the way may be wondering what cooler to buy for the 4094-pin sTR4 socket on the AMD X399 motherboards. Well, my friends, wonder no longer!

It's super simple: included with every AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPU is a free mounting bracket that enables compatibility with a wide range of premium closed-loop liquid cooling (CLC) solutions. These beautiful CLCs will keep your new Threadripper chip nice and chilly, and we maintain a list of over 20 solutions that are compatible with the included bracket. We'll be updating the list regularly for you!

There are also cooling solutions on the way that do not use AMD's provided bracket, and those will be added to the official list over time as well. Before purchasing such a solution, verify with the manufacturer or retailer that the cooler includes out-of-box sTR4 support. Some coolers pre-date the Ryzen Threadripper CPU, and are receiving mid-production updates after a certain date to include the compatible mounting hardware.

UPDATE NOTICE: The contents of this blog update have been migrated to the official Threadripper thermal solutions page on AMD.com at 3:47 PM Central on 2 August, 2017.

I can personally recommend the (Fractal Celsius S36), Its is more than enough for my 1800X Even @4.1GHz.  Max Load on AIDA64 stay in the low to mid 50's.

I'm Guessing S36 could be a good cooling option for Some of the Threadripper CPU's.

Also, Awesome Work to you, and also all the Guy's & Girl's Over there @AMD.

Will Thread ripper be compatible with the current realse of the 2017 Corisar H110i that works with the AM4 bracket? since it has that and the intel bracket or will AMD be making a bracket for people that bought the newest cooler with the intention of it working for the whole Ryzen line as advertised?

The Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 (what a mouthful) is missing.

I can personally recommend the EVGA CLC120, it's more than adequate for the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X. It looks good too.

The AM4 bracket works with the Corsair H110 cooler.

I personally preferred three AMD TR4-SP3 air coolers by Noctua:

  • Noctua NH-U9 TR4-SP3 Premium Grade Dual 92mm CPU Cooler
  • Noctua NH-U12S TR4-SP3 Premium Grade Single 120mm CPU Cooler
  • Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 Premium Grade Single 140mm CPU Cooler

See the image from google. How perfect they are, I know I am favoring Noctua a lot but I have the great experience from them.

As all of the above three Air Coolers are specifically designed for the (Ryzen Threadripper / EPYC Processors) and I personally feel that the heat transfer is also very good from its high-core parts. They all have PWM Support which is a valuable addition and comes with a 6 yr warranty (BRAVO)

Though I also accept that EVGA software provides the user the full control over their EVGA CLC Liquid Cooler which includes Fan speed and RGB Lighting, Pump control.

Edit: I am not sure about the warranty. please cross check before buying it. Just a gentle reminder.
