AMD Radeon™ Boost
Originally supporting select DirectX® 11 games, this feature now takes advantage of the variable rate shading hardware found on the Radeon™ RX 6000 series graphics cards and supported DirectX® 12 titles. It selectively reduces shading rates in certain areas of a frame as you turn and rotate your character in gameplay, delivering extra performance and increased responsiveness while you play. Enabling Radeon Boost also brings you the benefits of Radeon Anti-Lag, a subset feature of Radeon Boost which helps reduce latency and create a responsive gaming experience.
AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag
Radeon™ Anti-Lag is supported across thousands of games that run on DirectX® 9, 11 and now DirectX®12 APIs, opening compatibility to many new titles. This is the ultimate tool for any gamer or e-sport competitor. Radeon™ Anti-Lag paces the CPU work and reduces the amount of CPU work queued up so it doesn’t get too far ahead of the GPU, limiting lag and allowing for smoother gameplay.
Define Your Performance
Radeon Software helps unlock the full potential of your AMD powered experience. It gives you access to tuning functionality that is both easy to use for novice users via the one-click tuning presets, and feature rich for enthusiasts who like to adjust every little setting. The Performance tab allows you to access monitoring and performance tools such as control over the engine and memory clocks, fan curves, and voltages on your Radeon(TM) powered graphics card.
If you are an advanced user, the new “Stress Test” option and updated performance tuning UI are the tools you need to test out your tuning. Running a Stress Test is easy: check your overclock stability with a simple click. New temperature gauges make it easier than ever to understand performance readouts. We have also added indicators for performance limitations which allow you to see where there is room for improvement.
Frame Rate Target Control
We heard our users and have brought back Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC) support across an expanded range of Radeon(TM) graphics, allowing you to define target max frame rates for gameplay and limit FPS. This feature helps save power and reduces heat and noise. FRTC is especially useful when rendering relatively ‘easy’ content on powerful hardware, e.g., when you have a relatively low-resolution monitor connected to a higher end graphics board, are playing an older title, or a game with a relatively lightweight graphics load.
