Every few years, I upgrade my father-in-law’s PC—something I’ve been doing since my first build for him back in 2004. These days, he spends a lot of weekends gaming with his grandkids, my niece and nephew. While I’m still waiting on a few parts for his new build (ALL AMD THIS TIME AROUND), I’ve started working on the hand-me-down systems, which has become a tradition over the past five years. The kids are old enough now to appreciate a little fun in their PC designs. One of them loves pink and dragons. Even though this is the slowest system, it’s still pretty rad for a 10-year-old! That's pretty cool that you help out your relatives with computer builds. I built a few systems for my grandkids, one of them uses a case that my son (their dad) painted with Alien vs. Predator images on the side panels. The problem with building systems for family members is that you are their IT support and system upgrader.
