I have ryzen 5 7640HS. When I try to install driver from official website, i get such error
file:-
SetupDiGetDeviceRegistry Property failed:

Please upgrade the Windows 11 build if required. Are you trying executing .\npu_sw_installer.exe to install driver. Have you downloaded it RyzenAI 1.2 official documentation?
Right-click the installer file from the AMD website and select “Run as Administrator.” Sometimes, admin privileges help the installer access system components correctly.
It’s frustrating that AMD marketed this as a premium feature and charged a high price for it, all while delivering incomplete functionality. They seemed to assume it wouldn't be essential to users anytime soon, but the demand came faster than expected, and now we’re left with an unfinished NPU. For the price paid, we expect a fully operational feature, not a bull**bleep**ing promise.
I totally agree with you. I feel it was a WIP but not polished for RealWorld use. The driver and AMD ai software will not install even as administrator. I'm frustrated after hoping for software updates since i purchased my HP omnibook ultra 14 ,2 months ago. IF i cant use the NPU then I dont want this. I have raised my concern with HP and created a ticket and its already being escalated. This says much with so many forums and sites saying the same thing.. You dont see NO youtube videos from AMD or consumers or AI enthusiast showing the process of these hx ai npu's. Final note is I need my money back from AMD falsely advertising.
Hi,
This error comes when you have uninstalled the existing NPU driver from device manager. Please run Device manager-> Actions-> "Scan for hardware changes" to resolve the issue and try installing driver again.
