8700G, NPU, visibility in Windows task manager

Hi,

maybe, I posted my last question in the wrong group: https://community.amd.com/t5/processors/8700g-npu-not-visible-in-task-manager/m-p/707567#M62063

I don't understand why I can't see the 8700G NPU in the Windows task manager. I see the 780m, but not the NPU. All drivers seem to be installed properly. https://www.amd.com/en/developer/resources/ryzen-ai-software.html is only compatible for laptop cpus. Has the 780m to be seen as NPU and laptop CPUs behind the last link have 2 NPUs (780m and dedicated NPU)?

I'm grateful for any help or clarification.

Kind regards,
Andreas

Please make sure you have installed latest driver as described in the installation page: https://ryzenai.docs.amd.com/en/develop/inst.html

  • Ensure that NPU MCDM driver (Version:32.0.201.204, Date:7/26/2024) is correctly installed by opening Device Manager -> Neural processors -> NPU Compute Accelerator Device.
