I am trying to profile SPDK nvmf_tgt application on CentOS (kernel : 3.10.0-693.el7.x86_64).  Below is the output of running 'profile collection' and 'profile report' :

I am using the following version of AMDuProf:

I have installed the AMDPowerProfiler driver as well on the system.  Here is the output of 'lsmod' :

Translation started ...

ERROR: Could not write the profile data file (/home/ssgroot/GIT_REPOS/AMDuProf/collect-out/collect/collect.db).
There were no data records, was the profiling paused the entire duration?

Hi ssampath,

Commands mentioned by you looks fine. As there are no errors seen during 'collect', samples should have been captured. I could think of one possible reason- the attached process (PID 20300) might not be doing much during profiling, which led to no samples collection. Please try profiling without using '-g' option in the 'collect' command. '-g' option is for collecting CallStack. Collect samples without CallStack to help in figuring out whats happening. nvmf_tgt seems to be a I/O bound process, not a CPU bound process. So, not sure if there would be much activities on the CPU for this process. Can you provide the options used for starting nvmf_tgt process?
