Latest Win 10 Update strips out the ATI Radeon HD-3870 Graphics driver.
So, any idea how to solve it? Sure, I could just buy a newer AMD board. But at the moment, I don't like this level of not-service. How hard is it to let older GPU drivers work with Win10? Should I just buy a new graphics board? Should I go look at Nvidia's offerings? (I'd prefer to support AMD, but if they don't support me, what do I do?) Please answer, AMD gurus.
That card came out well before Windows 10, and Microsoft sets the requirements.
The card I have worked fine two days ago. now it doesn't. Why can't the driver that worked two days ago still run on today's Win10?
I would suggest you ask that question on the Microsoft forums.
Upgrade your video card to one which meets the minimum requirements of Windows 10.
My current card met "the requirements of Windows 10" until the latest update. What changed? Please support your products.
Similar situation here. Bit shocked by the lack of support. I was going to take my PC to a well known supplier that also carries out repairs however I might just replace the card completely for one that's supported better!
You'll need to contact Microsoft, nothing changed with our drivers.
Totally appreciate that this issue has occurred due to MS and an update they've implemented. I also get that I (we) should go to MS with the issue as they'll be best placed to resolve quicker. What I have issue with is the effectively 'nothing to do with us' attitude being shown. Ok there might be little you can do at this point however surely rather than sitting back, seeing multiple threads re these issues before coming back stating nothing to do with us, wouldn't it be better saying we're looking into what we can do however you'd be quicker contacting MS? Too many companies are taking this route these days and it's a complete cop-out.
What I really don't understand is that since the update my DDU has effectively uninstalled itself and my PC won't allow me to restore to an earlier date which pre-dates the MS updates.
This thread contains a workaround to get the old driver back!
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 Not Working With New Windows 10 FCU Update
Thank you Matt. When you responded I was on with MS chat whom took control of my PC. Unfortunately every attempt to install the drivers failed giving an error therefore they're sending me info (walkthrough) re a recovery disc and obtaining the drivers from AMD. This has turned into a nightmare so I hope the link you've provided works for others.
