I figured out the issue and a solution.
I have an Asus GPU, so I had the Asus GPU Tweak software installed. After installing the update and watching what happens on reboot, I discovered that the crash happened as soon as GPU tweak started, and that it was accompanied by a message about wattman being reset. I knew I had a slight "over"clock on my GPU, but I didn't even think about that being the cause of it. I booted into safe mode, opened up services and disabled the ASGT service (Asus GPU Tweak). When I restarted.... everything worked properly! I then uninstalled the software. Looks like I'll be doing all my adjustments through the built in AMD software from now on.......

so, your driver is crashing. ok, well when that happens make sure you close exit crimson and restart. and reboot. first i would update driver too 17.4.4 or 17.5.2 but not 17.6.2 versions.
ttry going into wattman bottom right corner and use the power slider and slide to the right the whole way. it be +25 or +50 reboot try again. when did you first have this issue?
Troubleshooting Common AMD Graphics Driver Installation Problems
i see a problem already ... you have 8gb of ram and graphics card that is 8gb, so you have no ram left to run your system or operating system nothing. you need more ram. definatley
Where's the connection between the vram of the graphics card and the ram? It doesnt make sense m8. If there wasnt enough ram the sistem wouldnt even start properly.....
the gpu is 8gb ram and is dedicated already used. ive seen this many times. your system is using where ever it can pull from to try and run most likely the ssd to swap.. if you dont mind trashing your ssd drive or whatever drive you have i dont see it listed. thats up to you.. im just telling you its not enough ram. i can only help guide you.
Listen, i'm pretty sure that that is not the problem, because my gpu is not an integrated one so it doesnt use the ram. The problem must be something else. I updated the drivers but today, after turning on the pc, it appened again. Any solution?
Have you taken the necessary steps to prevent/delay Microsoft from automatically changing/installing graphics updates? > Windows 10 Forums
You need to delete the contents of the C:/AMD folder...all of it.
If you are running any third party graphics controller....delete it. That includes Trixx, Afterburner, MSI, Asus, etc. etc. They all conflict with Wattman/AMD controls/settings.

Could anyone make the R9 Fury work using Oculus Rift CV1 with any driver newer than 16.11.xx? Please let me know how. Thanks!
RX 480 BSOD and Driver Crash
driver stopped responding and has recovered
Really? Actually i have another 2 programs for the video card, both from asus. They are gpu tweak and aura. Are they the problem?
Well, i unistalled the 2 programs and reboot the pc, actually after this reboot it didnt pop up the message. I'm gonna wait 2 or more day to see if i solved this problem. Thanks
In my case it's not "Probably" but "most likely". I've pulled my hair out trying to figure this out last year and I will NEVER ever run the "GPU Tweakit" app from Asus with WattMan. The built-in "optimized" profiles Asus provides are absolute trash - they work fine on paper, that's about it. I've been able to duplicate this on at least 5 systems: use any profile in GPU TweakIt - result is anything from the OP's question to BSOD's; uninstall TweakIt and all is fine.
PS - I can't quote this, but this information about not using Asus' GPU TweakIT came DIRECTLY from my Asus rep!
After 5 days i can says that those programs were really the problem. I want to thank you all for you help, thanks
I'm glad you got it sorted out....game on!
