Drivers seems to install correctly, but doesn't work on reboot

Hi,

For the past few weeks, I've been trying to install new display drivers to help fix some gameplay issues. I typically use AMD website to download my drivers. The past few drivers have not installed properly. I run the installer (I don't do clean installs because I don't want to worry about not having a backup of a known working driver) and install using the pre-selected options. The update appears to complete successfully, but when I reboot, it fails. About 5 seconds after logging in to Windows, I am greeted with a screen full of blue and black vertical stripes. I don't know what is causing this to occur when I do updates. Luckily, I've been able to fix it by booting into safe mode and using Device Manager to revert my drivers back to a previous version, but I still am unable to update my drivers. Does anyone know a solution?
