Eyefinity Bezel Correction Mixed orientation Issues

    ithrial

Good morning. I have 2x R9 Fury (non-water cooled) running drivers 16.30 on Windows 10. For some reason, when I try to utilize bezel correction on my Mixed Orientation display group (20" + 30" + 20") starting at 4960x1600, the 2 flanking monitors that were in portrait mode swap back to landscape mode before Bezel Correction process begins. I've tried every iteration of 16.x drivers and no luck. I can roll back to 15.30 drivers to get it to work, but those drivers crash for some reason.

Any one else have this issue? I know my setup is in a niche area but seeing is that SoftTH is not ready yet for DX11-12 games and AMD released this is as an official supported feature, figured I'd start here.

I have the exact same issue.  Running one MSI R9 Fury X using the latest Radeon Software Version 16.9.2.  Like the original poster I am using a mixed orientation display group (20" + 30" + 20") where the center display is landscape and the flanking monitors are portrait.  When selecting the bezel adjustment option the flanking monitors  switch  back to landscape making it impossible to align the triangles to complete the bezel adjustment process.  Also like the original poster, earlier drivers worked correctly, but the last few releases have been broken in this regard.

I have the same problem. The resolution when it switches from PLP to PPP is ...x900, the height of the side monitors - if they were in landscape orientation.

Steps performed (latest attempt after many others):

(All this was done logged in as an administrator user.)

Background: Switched from 2xSLI Geforce GTX 570 to the RX 480 yesterday; but since others coming from other AMD drivers have the same issue, I'll skip the details about that uninstallation.

            1. Run Display Driver Uninstaller 17.0.2.1 (explicitely "run as administrator"): safe mode, select nVidia, "clean & restart".
            2. Tried PLP bezel compensation => issue persists
            3. Run Display Driver Uninstaller 17.0.2.1 (explicitely "run as administrator"): safe mode, select AMD, "clean & restart".
            4. Re-Install on-whql-win10-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.10.2-oct19.exe (not explicitely "run as administrator")
            5. Eyefinity advanced setup: create PLP display group
            6. Adjust Bezel Compensation (immediately using the link below the message "Completed: Created AMD Eyefinity display group" or similar)
              1. resize a bit (click right arrow / making triangle part bigger)
              2. click next arrow
              3. answer "Yes" when asked whether it looks correct

            ⇒ Resulting display group:

Windows Setting say this is 5952x900.

BTW, one thing in the registry looks a little strange to me: RootDrive = "D:\". That's the drive from which I started non-whql-win10-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.10.2-oct19.exe, which should be irrelevant after installation, shouldn't it? Both Windows and the AMD driver are installed on C: so I'd rather expect that to be the "RootDrive".

Tried 17.1.2 - no luck. Also haven't got any reaction to my bug report since the automatic email of 2016-11-21.

AMD, please fix this - I changed over from the green side because of PLP :-)

Could someone from AMD please tell us if / when you are / will be working on this? Thanks.

Today I was desparate enough to try the 15.x workaround, although I was sceptical to use drivers older than my GPU (RX 480). Tried amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit.exe, radeon-crimson-15.11-win10-64bit.exe, and radeon-crimson-15.12-win10-64bit.exe. But all of them only let me install "HDMI audio driver" and "AMD Catalyst Install Manager". The usual other entries and checkboxes which components to install are missing.

Any ideas for a workaround to enable the workaround?

Tried 17.6.2 - still not working.

Also tried 1600x900 LLL setup. Not to actually use it, but I was hoping that I could save bezel compensation in that setup and it would maybe persist when switching to 900x1600 / 2560x1440 / 900x1600 PLP again. Unfortunately, it does not.

I'm very disappointed with AMD's lack of support.
