Like most people who multitask, I play all my games in non fullscreen (borderless) mode. Does Freesync work in that mode?
FreeSync currently only works in Full Screen Mode.
Thanks. Do you know if they it's possible to add this feature in the future with a simple GPU driver update? And does AMD have any plans to do so?
AMD will always look to continue to improve on its Technologies, wherever possible. However as it stands right now, FreeSync works in Fullscreen Mode only.
Don't you just love how people think features require only a "simple driver update", when in reality it will require a major update of explorer.exe from Microsoft themselves, something which I don't even think is being done in Windows 10.
I didn't think that, that's why I asked if it's even possible at all. However, G-Sync does support borderless, so it can't really be a pure Windows issue.
One thing to consider willyfisch is that there is never any screen tearing in Borderless/Windowed mode.
Yes, but I assumed it can have stutter/lag issues like in V-Sync, even though I never really noticed any, but I haven't been playing much for years now.
I will probably get an Asus MG279Q and run it at 144hz, so Freesync isn't really necessary at those hertz anyways.
Thanks for the help.
When I play a game like GTA5 in fullscreen mode with Freesync on my monitor (LG 29UM65-P 2560x1080) give's a black screen with the text ''Out of range''.
So I can only play in borderless window mode.
Do you know how I can solve that problem so I can play in fullscreen.
