OpenCL with ati 5450?

I'd like to buy an ati graphics card and as far as i know there is no real local memory in 4xxx cards.

Therefore I consider buying an ati 5450, but as it is not listed within OpenCL supporting cards (http://developer.amd.com/gpu/ATIStreamSDK/Pages/default.aspx) I need to know if it has full OpenCL support like (e.g. 5670, 5770 ...)?

Does the card has real local memory (not emulated like at 4xxx cards)?

You should understand that even with local memory 5450 only have 80 ALU @ 650 Mhz comparing with 320 ALU @550 Mhz for 5550.

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask, but maybe you can help me.

I bought the ati 5450 512 ddr2 hdmi graphics card and tryed to run it under Windows 7 64-Bit.

The installer starts and the first window appears where i can select the prefered language, after selecting anohter window appears where i can choose between install and uninstall. When clicking on install a Windows window appears saying that installation has failed.

I have tried installing driver shipped with the card and also the driver from amd web-site (http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=win7/windows-7-64bit) both with same result.

Are there any known issues concerning ati drivers and Windows 7 64-Bit?

Until now I was using a Nvidia 8500 GT, do I need to uninstall Nvidia drivers?

I had a similar situation when installing ati stream sdk, I solved this by manually installing .msi files (there were 3 of them). But the drivers contain many msi files so thats not a good solution i guess.

All 5XXX series of cards are supported and have hardware local memory.

noxnet,

You could face problems if you install ATI drivers without removing the nvidia drivers.

I uninstalled Nvidia driver, but the ATI installation still fails.

Installing .msi files seperately doesn't help either, because the drivers .msi file says that it requires ATI Catalyst Install Manager to run. So I end up with the same problem.

Any Ideas?

Try Driver Sweeper (it's freeware):

What he said. Also, if you are still having problems installing the card itself, the AMD game forums - Catalyst section might be of some use.
