I'm a person who love collect PCs , notebook, Ultrabook and hybird laptop. I test each them and see the improvement in performance, efficiency or both. I love playing all PC games on notebook . Most what I collect with Intel and dedicated graphic card from Nvidia or AMD. They offer good performance but , I need to connect my laptop to a charger or I will have fun about 45 minutes on the battery. When I first time using AMD notebook in 2011. It was powered by AMD phenom P960 quad core and AMD 6650 . Although the laptop required 90 watt- which is power hungry gaming laptop- I was shocked that I can play the game on battery on practically around 90 minutes. I thought maybe the notebook has a high capacity battery but, no. After that I purchased Notebook powered by AMD Zacate APU E-450. I know that this APU is not powerful as the previous AMD Notebook. I realise that APU E-450 is similar to Intel atom dual core + Nvidia . At that time this APU running Windows 7 without windows aero very well . When I play mini game on it I can enjoy playing about 230minutes on battery . Thanks to the 18 watt APU and 48wh battery same notebook capacity. However, my life with my APU cannot last longer due the shift to Windows 8. So, this APU is outdated and need another update. So, I purchased another notebook with APU A8-8550m with AMD 7570m in 2013 . It was great in windows 8 and the gaming performance is very good. However, it wasn't very good on battery due there is dual GPU on it so, I can play game on battery around 70 minutes. My my life with this APU is not very long due I play GTA5 in it. I thought this APU can handle it due the game was released in 2013 so I run it and it runs very slowly. I realize the problem cos the game is using one GPU and doesn't support cross fire. So the external GPU is very bad performance so, I disabled it and play on iGPU. It runs very smooth. But, when I play GTA in the city , the game freeze and stop a lot. Sometimes the road or building disappear so it makes glitch . Now, I try to figure the problem and finally, I found it. The game using only 2 cores of the APU and it roughly over process game. I keep play GTA5 on it and I found my APU is overheating and crash. Then my notebook external GPU is died. And the system usually fail to boot. That is the sad part of my life with APU when I want to play the most hot game. But I'm here want to know any news about AMD. Their vision in gaming so, that's why I keep looking forward.
