Started FPS at a lan party for Unreal Tournament back in 1999-2000. Parents did not like me on their computer so I got kicked to consoles. Was stuck playing UT99 on PS2 and Unreal Championship on xbox live. Stayed with xbox till 360 and eventually got bored of gaming. Life happened. Had a child. Went through jail, the court system and a break up with all the baby momma drama. Eventually grew up. Met Jesus. Met new girl. Got a new job. New Life.
Anyways new girlfriend got me back to my first love which was gaming. We played xbox one for a couple years then finally had the money to dump both our consoles for PC gaming. First we got an alienware steam machine for a deal and slapped Windows 10 on it after dell said it was incompatible. (Just have to unplug it when your not using it. No biggie. We got an HP laptop with a 940m. Both of these machines were ofcourse nvidia.
That got us started for the first year but the laptop was only a dual core I7 and it was just lacking in frames per second. After a few quake champions updates I got sick of dual core shananigans.
Sold the 65w laptop for a 230watt HP omen laptop with a quad core i7 and a RX580 beast mode. Made the mistake of updating the driver on the RX580 to 18.1 (even tried the optional 18.2) and kept experiencing crashes and that's why I'm here. I almost sent the laptop for a refund and was at first turned off by AMD but I heard a little voice in my head that said factory reset and got things working again. Went through every update until I was able to narrow it down to the RX580 driver update. Hoping to see whats up with all these RX580 beast chips in all these laptops. Super impressed with performance. Not so impressed with the heat, software and driver options. But I do like team red. Really impressed with the RX580 in a laptop. Amazing.
