Issue with dual socket setup of Epyc 7282 on Supermicro H12DSi-NT6

Dear community,

i have a strange issue with Epyc 7282 CPUs in a SuperMicro H12DSi-NT6. If i populate just a single socket, the CPU runs fine. But if I populate the second socket, the system won't boot anymore. As i have two other Epyc 7282 CPUs from another distributor i tried the dual socket setup with those CPU and it booted without any issues. If i mix the CPUs the system also won't boot.

As any of you had a similar issue or heard from relabeled Epyc CPUs (is this possible at all)?

In single CPU setup i was able to catch some information from BIOS and dmidecode.

MB Info:

  • bios version: 2.4
  • build date: 04/20/2022
  • CPLD version: F1.A0.01

BIOS detects CPU as:

  • Epyc 7282
  • Family: 17h
  • Model: 30h-3Fh
  • Microcode patch level: 8301055

dmidecode:

  • ID: 10 0F 83 00 FF FB 8B 17
  • family: 23
  • model: 49
  • stepping: 0

Could it be a relabeled Epyc P CPU?

Best regards

André
