Enabling CPU crashes in Blender on MacOS (In both 2.7 and 2.8 beta)

If I enable the CPU in the ProRender 'Render' settings in Blender, Blender crashes at the start of the render.

- I am attempting render a single image, using the default Blender "new general scene". (Just a simple box and one point light)

- The crash occurs if I enable only the CPU.

- The crash also occurs if I enable the CPU and the GPU together.

- The crash does NOT occur if I ONLY enable the GPU.

- This crash occurs in the official RPR release for Belnder 2.7.

- This crash also occurs in the beta RPR released a few days ago, with the latest pull from Blender 2.8 beta.

My macOS Mojave version and system specs can be viewed in the attached screenshot.

The macOS Problem Report contains:

Would it help if I were to attach a full macOS 'Problem Report', and/or a Blender log of some kind?
