Post the make & model of your motherboard and I will post a link to its Support site that will show the QVL lists and CPU SUPPORT list as well.

The link will also go to your Motherboard's Driver Download page.

NOTE: The Support ticket you need to open is NOT with AMD SUPPORT but with your Motherboard's Manufacturer Support site (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Biostar, ASRock, etc).

Hopefully, you don't have a weird Motherboard manufacturer brand.

Thanks for the Make & Model of your Gigabyte Motherboard.

Here is from Gigabyte Support CPU SUPPORT LIST concerning your Ryzen 3900: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550M-DS3H-rev-15/support#support-cpu

AMD Ryzen 9 3900 12C/24T 3.1GHz / 4.3GHz 6MB 64MB N/A Matisse 7nm B0 65W F1

In your case your Motherboard original F1 BIOS version supports the 3900 processor.

Here is the correct QVL LIST FOR RAM MEMORY for the Matisse (3900 processor) List: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550M-DS3H-rev-15/support#support-doc

As you can tell it is some what out-dated list. So you will need to go to your RAM Manufacturer Support to see if it is compatible with your motherboard if your RAM isn't listed.

Here are all the latest Gigabyte Support Driver updates including BIOS Versions for your Motherboard: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550M-DS3H-rev-15/support#support-dl-driver

Screenshot 2023-09-22 094436.pngI suggest you download your Motherboard's AMD CHIPSET directly from AMD Download page from here which are probably the latest version: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b550

Good  luck on your new Processor.

Go to your Motherboard's QVL LIST for RAM MEMORY for the 3000 series processor and see if your RAM Part Number is listed. IF not then go to Corsair RAM Finder and see if your RAM is compatible with your Motherboard.

Generally AM4 Motherboards uses DDR4 RAM MEMORY. The QVL LIST will show which RAM is compatible with your Motherboard and processor.

Thanks

Yes, the memory is compatible with the motherboard. But I do not know if the processor supports this memory on the specifications of amd ryzen 9 3900 is specified only ddr4 something else is not specified

I believe that AM4 Motherboards are compatible with DDR4 RAM sticks only. Other types of RAM wouldn't fit in the Dimm slots of DDR4 Motherboards.

If your Memory is shown to be compatible with your motherboard through the Manufacturer's Support website then it is a good chance it will be compatible with your Ryzen 3900 CPU.

But to verify I would open a Support Ticket of your Motherboard's Manufacturer Support and ask them directly if your RAM is not listed in their QVL List for th 3000 series CPU processors.

Note: if you already purchased the 3900 processor than first make sure you have the correct BIOS version installed that will support then new Processor and install it.

Once you install it do a CLEAR CMOS first to set the BIOS to default settings for the new CPU.

Then power up and see if it boots into Windows without any Motherboard Trouble LED or Digital Codes showing while booting up.

Thanks a lot. I didn't buy the processor but I'm going to buy it. I have a friend who works in the field until tomorrow, I don't think he's available, I hope he clarifies me. If I don't make a ticket to amd support about the processor, let's see what they say. I am curious motherboard accepts from 2666 to 3200 ddr4 frequencies but I did not find about the processor concrete if it supports
