WHEA BSOD Issues with Ry 9 5900 and 6900XT

So I know there are a million posts about variations of this everywhere but im not sure what fix actually works. Or if i just need to RMA my CPU or GPU but im not sure where the issue is.

just purchased new components for my new build. This is my 15th build since the original intel 286 have been out and about my 8th AMD build. Ive never had an issue like this come up that i haven't been able to figure out or fix.

Asus TUF X570 Plus Wifi, Ryzen 9 5900x, 4x16GB Viper Steel 3600MHz RAM, XFX Merc 319 6900XT Ultra, Samsung 980 Pro M2 drive.

My system stays stable for the initial windows installation and then after that its very hit or miss with BSODs within 5 mins of being up.  I've been unable to install the AMD drivers for the video card as i get a BSOD during the install which causes my M2 drive to disappear. This makes me have to hit the switch on my PSU on/off/on then power on so the system will see my M2 drive again.

There is no issue i can find with the M2 drive, or the RAM, It seems to be an issue with the CPU or the GPU. I am running two separate cables from the PSU to the 6900XT as ive read that causes some people issues with their GPUs.

Oh also im running the latest 3405 drivers. I've tried Flckr settings down to 1600 in the bios and several ram voltage tweaks but nothing works.

I dont plan on reinstalling windows again on my M2 drive so im not sure where to go from here other than an RMA. Id refer not to RMA and go build intel as ive been on AMD for so long but...

hi,

first thing  , tell us what's your psu  ... then i would make tests without ram@3600 , put it at default or at least 3200 while you search for the cause of your problem , don't set it @ 3600 before being sure to be stable... everything uptodate ? chipset ? windows 20H2 ? etc?

Corsair AX850 PSU. Right now I've done a full reset of all settings in the BIOS and new install of windows. So RAM is running at whatever default is set on the bios. Install AMD Chipset drivers latest for x570 and all windows updates. System doesn't last longer than 5 min before a freeze up.

I'm unable to load AMD driver for the video card.

Same error each time 'WHEA unrecoverable error' on the screen but I cant seem to find any more details in the Event log showing 17 18 or 19 etc. Just showing u as a fatal error and a bad power down like a power button shutdown hold.

try installing "whocrashed" maybe to see what is says about a dump file if there is one .. i don't know but are you able to check gpu temps without driver...?

ok psu should be sufficent  i think ... ... do you have another gpu to test ? or can you test your gpu on someone else's computer maybe  ?

This worked for me i have the same hardware.

1). go into bios
2). select advanced mode ( F2 key )
3). find  CPU Vcore Auto and change AUTO to 1,4volt
4). save and exit
5). try to play your games again.

The above made my own computer able to run games that i could not play yearsterday and i had 0 crashes the last 5-6 houres i play hitman 3 and another game.

Not sure about that exe....

However Ive narrowed this down after hours of troubleshooting.

The issue is between the motherboard asus tuf x570 plus and my m2 ssd samsung 980 pro 500gb. Everything is fine until I install the chipset drivers. Drivers work fine on a sata drive as my is main drive but not if I'm using the m2. Both slots have the same issue as well. Off to talk to asus I guess.
