What upgrade from FX-8350?

Running an FX-8350 on an ASUS 970 with DDR3 16GB and Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti

Tbh, I have no idea what to upgrade to.
I was looking for Win 11 and i dont have the required specs.

U any recommendations? I have a limited budget so I'd like to keep as many parts as possible.

Thanks.

You are in a tough spot. AM3+ is just too old and we are on the verge of making a leap to DDR5 while you still on DDR3.

You will have to change board, cpu and ram at the very least.

If you dont plan gaming much and save as much gold coins as you can.

Grab a lower tier B550 and a Ryzen 5600 plus 16gb ddr4. Keep the gpu and make at the very least a capable system for a new graphics card down the road.

You can do this for sub 300, at least I can here. Check your local stores. You can also save some money if you buy at amazon. There are open box, used, returned and opportunity articles, Ive done it several times and you still have warranty like new.

Also, before I forget. Whats the power supply? Theres a chance you may have to change it too.

If its too much to spend, You can go even lower tier but then dont expect much from performance dept.

You could go i5 12400f as it outperforms 5600 non X by a couple of fps but its also more expensive, at least here.

Good luck

Thanks for the quick reply.

300 is acculy not that bad, I saved up 500. So could be a bit better, sicne I reguraly play games.
I have an  600W Power supply from BeQuiet.

If you could save up maybe another $100, you could get something like this. Only thing with this motherboard, we don't know if its been updated to support Ryzen 5000 series out of the box, so you may need to use a loaner kit from AMD to update the BIOS to use the new CPU.

Leonidas - Ryzen 7 5800X3D | MBA RX 6800 XT Midnight Black | Be Quiet 802 Silent Base (Main)
Maximus - Ryzen 7 3700x | Power Color Fighter RX 6700 XT | Fractal Ridge ITX Case (HTPC)

Now thats a really nice affordable upgrade for playing today.
