Hello, All,

I know that motherboards recommend a lot of specific DIMMS to be used with their boards, but what RAM modules does AMD recommended for the Ryzen 7 PRO 7745 and Ryzen 7 7700 processors? If for some reason you need to know my board, it is an MSI X670-P. I will be using ECC RAM on it.

AMD recommends DDR5-5200 in a 2x DIMM configuration, or DDR5-3600 in a 4x DIMM.

I would go to your MSI Support and choose a RAM part number from your Motherboard's QVL LIST for the 7000 series processor.

The QVL List will show you which ECC RAM part numbers are supported in your motherboard.  The QVL List for RAM is a list that MSI has tested to be 100% compatible with your processor and motherboard.

According to MSI QVL List for the 7000 series you will need to input your ECC Ram to see if it is listed or not,  plus under your motherboard's Specs it indicates it only supports Non-ECC Ram: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-X670-P-WIFI/Specification

All Ryzen processors supports unofficially ECC RAM but your motherboard must support ECC RAM to work.

EDIT: The majority of Consumer Motherboards has a limited support for ECC RAM or doesn't support it at all. So you must go to the Motherboard's Specs - Memory to see if it support ECC RAM and then go to its QVL List to see which RAM actually is listed that support ECC Ram.

All AMD ThreadRippers and its Motherboards supports ECC RAM. Ryzen ThreadRippers are the Consumer processor version of Server processors.

I want to thank FunkZ and elstaci MVP for taking the time to provide info.

FunkZ had the answer as I was unable to find anywhere on AMD where it listed the desired RAM to be used, but darn if his link didn't take me straight there.

By now, and more so in the future, most know matching to the processor is what you do first. Then, which of those are compatible with the motherboard. Since a motherboard matches to thousands of sticks (in my case I stopped counting at 1200) it is easy to find a match to it.

The motherboard says it can handle up to DDD5-7600, but the chip cannot.

ECC available with a bios download on the X670.

1.CPU memory controller quality will affect the memory operating frequency.System reliability and stability could be impact by the status of higher temperature from DDR5 memory modules.
2.The partial DDR5 memory module will remain running at 4800MT/s because of the architecture design by the Ryzen 9000 series CPU.
