Ryzen 9 7900X3D with Ram memory 6000mhz

Hello guys!

I bought AMD Ryzen 9 7900x3D and I have ram memory ddr5 6000mhz, dimm format.

Is there any problem to use this memory with this processor?

I mean, I saw connectivity topics on amd's site and the maximum speed is 5200mhz for this processor.

Do I need to buy ram memory ddr5 5200mhz?

I searched on Google about some problems within this compatibility, however I didn't find anything.

My motherboard is x670e-plus supports both, processor and ram memory.

Thx

If your Motherboard CPU LIST shows support for your processor and the Motherboard's QVL List for the 7000 series processor shows your RAM as being compatible than you shouldn't have any issues.

The QVL List means that Asus personally checked that RAM Part Number for compatibility issues at its assigned speed and found it to be compatible.

From your Asus Motherboard Specs concerning RAM:

Memory
4 x DIMM, Max. 192GB, DDR5 8000+(OC)/ 7800(OC)/ 7600(OC)/ 7200(OC)/ 7000(OC)/ 6800(OC)/ 6600(OC)/ 6400(OC)/ 6200(OC)/ 6000(OC)/ 5800(OC)/ 5600(OC)/ 5400(OC)/ 5200/ 5000/ 4800 ECC & Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory*
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports AMD Extended Profiles for Overclocking (EXPO™)
OptiMem II
* Supported memory types, data rate(Speed), and number of DRAM module vary depending on the CPU and memory configuration, for more information refer to www.asus.com for memory support list.
** Non-ECC, Un-buffered DDR5 Memroy supports On-Die ECC function.

The 5200Mts is its SPD speed but doesn't mean it can't be overclocked to 6000Mts designated speed.

Check the QVL List for the 7000 series Ram and check the following categories to make sure you configure BIOS Setting correctly: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-x670e-plus/helpdesk_...

Find out if your RAM is compatible with either XMP or EXPO or both to configure BIOS settings. Also check to make sure how many Motherboard DIMM Slots (Socket Support) are compatible with your specific RAM Part number and that the RAM designated speed is supported.

EDIT: Looking at Asus QVL List for the 7000 series RAM at 6000MTS it seems to show all RAM Part Numbers are compatible in only two DIMM Slots being populated and not 4 Dimm slots.

Hello.
Since the 7900x3d's CPU memory controller speed is 5200 MHz, is there any benefit to using faster memory modules?
I understand that faster modules can be supported, but is there any real benefit?
Do you have to overclock the CPU to take advantage of this?

Hello eflamm, sorry for delayed.

I searched for some pages, but I didn't find for any real benefit.

I read that this cpu is not necessary to overclock it, so I don't know if I have some advantage about this.

When I wrote this question actually I tried  to understand if I have some problem to use this memory on the ryzen 9 7900X3D instead to find some benefit it.

Just be aware that the information given in answers above is incomplete.

2x 48 GBytes (i.e. 96 GBytes) is listed with the processor's memory base speed of 5200MHz (plus those listed higher speeds)

4x 32 GBytes (i.e. 128 GBytes) the listed processor's base drops to 3600MHz.

Carefully check your processor specifications.
