Ryzen 5950x BSOD :(

Hi All,

First time I need some assistance here.

I had a perfectly working system with a ryzen 5800x in my Asus b550 Tuf Gaming MB and since the price of the 5950x droped I decided to upgrade the CPU to improve a bit my multitasking (I mostly game on the computer but I also do some heavy work with modelling).

After changing the CPU I started having a lot of BSOD and the nightmare begun. First of all I started reinstalling windows, upgrading BIOS and changing Memory sticks but I kept having BSOD and random restarts.

The only way to keep the system stable is to increase offset voltage on CPU on about 0.165V, howerver when doing this the performance of the CPU gets a bit lower on benchmark tests. The temperatures on full load are around 70Deg which looks great (5800x was much hotter). I cannot get the system stable with PBO enabled at all.

Even though I have a stable system now I still feel that something is not correct and I am leaving a lot of performance on the table. Did you have any similar experience with this CPU? I really think something is weird with the CPU itself.

Some of my system Specs:
-Ryzen 5950x with 280mm Corsair AIO cooler.

-Asus TUF Gamming B500M

-4x8gb Crucial Memory

-750w Power Supply.

Any help or ideas are  welcome.

Thank you

While it shouldn't be an issue, or at least cause instabilities.

You are pairing a monster CPU with an entry level or mid tier board at best.

PBO relies on a good VRM, with that 8+2 phase, well... it shouldn't crash but it won't be amazing too.

Are you running with DOCP enabled? Try disabling it and check if it crashes.

Good luck
