Hi
I hope someone can help me with an issue I have with a newly purcahsed Ryzen 5 processor. When watching movies through the ryzen iGUP I am experiencing some artifacts.
I recently bought a AMD RYZEN 5 8500G PROCESSOR 3.5 GHZ 16 MB L3 BOX processor, for a medie center. The goal was to use this processors internal GPU as output for a projector. The processor is installed on a Gigabyte B650M Arous Elite AX motherboard together with DDR5 32GB KIT 2x16GB PC 5200 Kingston EXPO FURY Beast RAM. Everything is new.
The problem comes after some time when watcing movies, after some testing around I have concluded that the issue becomes worse the hotter the cpu gets. However the cpu does not ever reach dangerously high temperatures, its below 50 degrees when the artifacts starts appearing - and the hotter the cpu gets the more artifacts will appear, finally rendering the iGPU essentially useless.
The artifacts looks like this other example i found online:

What i have done includes:
- Updating to latest bios firmware.
- Run MemTest without any errors found.
- Running the Auto-Detect and Install Driver Updates for AMD Radeon™ Series Graphics and Ryzen™ Chipsets
- Setting cpu fan to max (this DOES help some, since it keeps the cpu temperature lower).
Is this a dead cpu? Or are they just not able to operate properly on the internal GPU under any kind of load? Help???? 😄
Best regards
Peter
