Depends on what Motherboard you are using.
Go to the Motherboard's Support site and look at the QVL List for your Processor and see if your RAM is listed as being compatible and ECC compatible.
If not listed on the Motherboard's QVL List (in case it is out dated) than go to the RAM manufacturer and see if your RAM is listed as being compatible with your motherboard and ECC.
